Victoria Bakery

has closed

Anchor 1

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closure of Victoria Bakery. After more than 40 years in the bakery trade, man & boy, the time has come to hang up my oven gloves & bakers peel and retire.

Victoria Bakery has been in Barnet High Street for over 50 years but all good things come to an end.

It has been great fun, challenging at times, but it has been a real pleasure to be a part of High Barnet. The team here at Victoria Bakery, Debbie and I would like to thank all our lovely customers who have supported us over all these years. We have come to know generations of families who have come to us not just for bread and cakes but for wedding & birthday cakes year after year. We thank you all.

We also want to thank our wonderful colleagues, past and present, some of whom have worked with us for many years and at all hours of the day & night. We have had generations of wonderful families working with us, parents, grandparents, sons & daughters. We thank you too.

There have been many changes in Barnet over the years and there is no doubt that this is a challenging time for the High Street but we are confident that Barnet will pull through, sadly we will not be part of it but will watch with interest.

Our family has been baking in North London since 1820 but this is not the end of that long line. Our nephew Lewis is carrying the family tradition into the 6th generation at Dunns Bakery in Crouch End. Please do give him a try especially if you want a special occasion cake, it’s well worth the trip to Crouch End.

Our last day will be Saturday 22nd June 2019

Thank you and farewell.
